About Monica Reyes Ibarra

Monica is a licensed attorney in the State of Texas, and her genuine care for immigrants shines through her work and is obvious to, and appreciated by, her clients.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from The University of Texas at Austin.  After graduation, she worked for several years as a legal assistant in a law firm in Central Texas.  During this time, Monica also worked as an ESL (English as a second language) teacher for a local non-profit organization. While teaching, Monica identified with many of her students who, like her, arrived in the United States in search of a better life.  Realizing her passion for the law and her love for helping immigrant communities, she decided to pursue a career as an immigration attorney.

After working diligently toward this goal, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Tech University School of Law.  While in law school, Monica worked with the Texas Tech Civil Practice Clinic and the Journal of Biosecurity, Biosafety, & Biodefense Law.  She also interned at a renowned Texas immigration law firm where she found her footing in immigration law.

Monica is now a zealous advocate for exactly those who she set out to help years ago.  Her rapport with clients allows them to trust her and open up to her, whether in Spanish or English.  Be it the case of an abandoned immigrant juvenile, a complex adjustment of status matter, or a VAWA petition, Monica stands ready to tackle any legal challenge that comes her way.  Monica is a true advocate, and she was recently featured in The Guardian regarding her efforts to improve the health and safety of those in a small, forgotten community in Central Texas where the residents are mostly Hispanic immigrants.
